EMERGENT NEEDS

Number of volunteers: 5-8 volunteers

Summary: Pitch in wherever we need you most. Projects may include organizing our donation room, library, or kid play area; deep cleaning a space to prepare for an incoming family; or working on a skilled task such as refinishing furniture or painting. Sometimes, this role may also include Grounds Crew projects. Depending on what is happening at Family Village, we may have other projects not mentioned that may be a priority. We will send a communication about anticipated tasks closer to your volunteer day.

Shifts: Monday, Wednesday, or Friday mornings and afternoons (2-3 hours)

The Nitty Gritty:

  • Path Home provides the necessary tools and supplies for your project.

  • This role may entail frequent kneeling, stooping, carrying, and walking. Please reach out if you have concerns. 

  • This role may take place with family participants present - That may include energetic kids, a participant and staff meeting, quiet family time, or something else. Be friendly and compassionate, and give space when necessary. 

  • You may pair your volunteer day with an in-kind donation as well. Whether that means each volunteer brings a single item to donate, or if you host an organization-wide donation drive, both options help keep our supply closet stocked with necessities. 

Requirements: 

  • Be flexible.

  • Bring a water bottle.

  • No photos or videos of families.

  • Uphold confidentiality. Families’ personal information and stories are not to be shared outside of Path Home.
