Solution Salon

An uplifting antidote to headlines that frame Portland as a leader in the national challenge of homelessness - Path Home’s Solution Salon is here to make Portland the national leader in the solution.

Join us virtually for a discussion on the causes and implications of homelessness, and how we can create a society where no family or individual experiences homelessness. Together, we'll tackle questions like:

  • Have we always had homelessness?

  • What causes homelessness? Who are the invisible homeless?

  • What happens to someone when they experience homelessness?

  • How do we solve this challenge?

RSVP here by July 26, 2024!

Lullaby Project - The Concert

The Lullaby Project – conceived by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute – uses the creative process of songwriting to improve well-being and child bonds with parents experiencing housing insecurity and other challenging life situations. In partnership with Oregon Symphony musicians and local singer-songwriters, parents and parents-to-be have created personal lullabies for their children, expressing their dreams for the future. Join Path Home at this concert, where all the lullabies will be played live! Doors open at 5:30 for a 6:30 concert start.

Solution Salon

Tuesday, November 15

12:00-1:00pm

Join us for a free online discussion about homelessness in our community.

All over Portland, folks are talking about a homelessness crisis and what we should do about it. There are a lot of ideas flying around about how to address this crisis, and it's hard to know what the right answer is.

Join us for a Solution Salon to explore this crisis and potential solutions. You'll be able to ask questions about this challenging issue and engage in dialogue about what you can do to help.

We will explore the following questions:

What is the homelessness crisis?

How did we get here, and just how bad is it?

How do we solve this crisis for good?

What can you do to help?

Solution Salon will be hosted on Zoom. Guests will be turned on mute and can choose to turn video on or off. We'll use the chat feature for questions. The event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required.

RSVPs are now closed. If you would still like to attend, please email emma@path-home.org.

Family Reunion Nonevent!

THANK YOU!

Thanks to everyone who participated in Path Home’s (formerly PHFS) first Nonevent! So far we have raised $225,000… and counting!

Path Home (formerly PHFS) serves more than 400 families made up of 1200 kids and parents each year. The average age of a person in shelter is ten years old, and 58% of our total clients are children.

Every child should have a safe, warm place to sleep at night. Please give so we can continue our critical work helping families gain and retain permanent housing.

Each day we shared a new video highlighting one of our programs. Check them out below!

In the Outreach program, families experiencing homelessness, who oftentimes are living in tents or in their cars, get help accessing critical shelter and re-housing resources.

Family Village was the first shelter in Oregon to feature trauma-informed design and architecture. It is a place for families to heal through the crisis of homelessness and prepare for permanent housing.

Nearly 90% of the families in the housing program maintain their housing long-term. Listen to Housing Specialist, Ermajean, to find out what makes our program so successful.

The Prevention Program keeps families in their homes, so they never have to experience homelessness with their kids.
